message from the president
Building upon a history of excellence
Welcome to the Greater Los Angeles Morehouse Alumni Association (GLAMAA) website. It is my distinct honor to welcome you to the virtual home of one of the largest Morehouse College alumni populations in the nation. It’s my hope that our common bond as Dear Old Morehouse Brothers will inspire us to reconnect, re-engage, and recommit to the love we share for our beloved institution while we work to fulfill GLAMAA’s mission to assist current and incoming Morehouse students from the L.A. area.
In addition to providing mentorship and financial support to students, it’s my hope that we will also build a strong network of brothers looking to support each other, strengthen our bonds, and truly enhance the friendships we built while trekking up that red clay hill on Morehouse’s campus.
Morehouse Alumni in the Greater Los Angeles area truly exemplify what it means to be Morehouse Men! Whether you’re an actor, attorney, doctor, entrepreneur, financial advisor, professional athlete, teacher, or all-around Renaissance man, one thing is sure: We were all guided by the crown Morehouse held high above our heads, challenging us to grow and exceed our potential.
I sincerely ask that each of you--as leaders, doers and influencers--help us continue GLAMAA’s rich legacy by joining our alumni chapter or donating to help us further our aims. Our goal is to increase GLAMAA’s impact in the community and help cultivate the next generation of Morehouse graduates so they can continue to build upon our alma mater’s history of excellence.
Fellow Morehouse Men, I implore you to consider joining GLAMAA today, either as an annual or lifetime member, to help our organization reach higher heights. Remember, this is your alumni association, so please let us know how we can best serve and represent you, as well as our beloved Morehouse College.
Thank you for believing in our mission. We look forward to your continued support as Morehouse College moves into its next 150 years of excellence.
Sincerely,
Brandon Rainey, Class of 2007
GLAMAA 2021-2024 President
