Isaiah Thompson
Isaiah Thompson is a senior economics major from Atlanta, Ga. As a non-traditional student and parent of two, he felt it was important for his degree to be more than just a piece of paper. He preferred an institution where he could join a brotherhood of Men, who were willing to uplift each other on their respective journeys toward success. He is a member of the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge Team and has won numerous awards while competing against the top students each HBCU has to offer. He plans to attend law school in the fall following his graduation in the spring of 2022.
Jalen R. Wilson
My name is Jalen Royce Wilson and I am a New Jersey born native that relocated to California with my family in 2008. I graduated from Temescal Canyon High School in Lake Elsinore, CA.
I am very proud to be part of the Morehouse Class of 2025. I plan to major in Psychology with the hopes of later becoming an orthodontist. I want to be a part of the generation that continues to shape and expand the narrative that African American males exist in all professions and that there are no limitations on what we can be with exposure and access to the right resources.
Attending Morehouse started out as a personal journey for me to continue my father’s legacy but it's the brotherhood that I feel will nurture and develop my character beyond the foundation of my upbringing. I am grateful to be a recipient of the Morehouse GLAMMA Alumni Association 2021 scholarship. Thank you to the Greater Los Angeles Morehouse Alumni Association for this prestigious scholarship award.
Jeffery L. Adolphus, Jr.
I am Jeffery L. Adolphus, Jr., and I am entering Morehouse College this fall as a Freshman, Dual-Degree Engineering Major. My passion is math. I became interested in the sciences through my participation in "Saturday School" via the Los Angeles Council of Black Professional Engineers (LACBPE). I am thankful to them for getting me started, and I am grateful to GLAMAA for financial assistance that moves me closer to achieving my dream of becoming an engineer. I look forward to getting involved with young people in a way that is meaningful. Thank you for this blessing!!!

Omarri C. Beck
Omarri Beck is a rising senior at Morehouse College where he is expected to obtain his degree in Sociology (BA) along with his minor in Public Health in the Spring of 2022. During his tenure at Morehouse College, a course taught on gentrification propelled him to be more knowledgeable on what factors affect people’s ability to obtain a quality education and live a healthy lifestyle.
As he continues to serve as an Adams Scholar, student-leaders who serve 200 community service hours per school year, he sought an educational need and met the manner. He did so by creating a tutoring program named M.O.O.R.E. Mentors, which features numerous college peers who are on board to help increase and maintain students’ grades. Through an on-campus organization known as Achieve M.O.O.R.E, in which Omarri serves as President, he was able to establish a partnership between the on-campus organization and the Atlanta non-profit organization Raising Expectations.
Omarri continues to excel in leadership on campus, in the classroom, and in the Metro-Atlanta community all while maintaining a 3.60 GPA. Omarri plans on further pursuing his studies in graduate school to become an effective leader in social change by re-innovating opportunities for people to obtain a quality education and healthy lifestyle one day through the creation of his own non-profit organization.
William Butler
I’m a transfer student from Golden West Community College, based in Orange County, California, who enrolled at Morehouse College Fall 2020. I’m an English major minoring in Spanish and, through my career path, I want to be a part of building, bridging, and expanding the roots and communities that have played a significant role in forming who I am: Afro-Latinx American. Inspired by the great-paternal matriarchs – my grandmother, aunt, and cousin – whom have provided past, present, and future generations with something to return to, something that will always be there and is readily accessible – my family’s genealogy book – I want to be able to pay it forward and provide individuals, like my relatives, with what has been shared with me, through my matriculation at Morehouse College, and be able to share it with future generations.
